Four Des Moines Chambers to Share Office Space Downtown
In a move to better serve Des Moines businesses, four Des Moines Chambers of Commerce will centralize operations effective March 1, while maintaining separate boards, memberships, and executive directors.

Taste of the South Side: Donations Needed

I am a board member with the South Des Moines Chamber (tax id #42-6098416). We are holding an event on May 10th, 2012 at 5pm called the Taste of the South Side. It is and event where South Des Moines restaurant owners can bring in food samples to promote their business as our guests get an opportunity to sample all the great food there is to offer on the south side.
The event again this year will be held at Jasper Winery. There is live music, food and beverage samples, and a silent and live auction. At this time, we are asking local businesses for donations to contribute towards the auction baskets. Items can range from gift certificates, to experiences that our guests would be willing to bid on. The baskets will be assembled for the auctions on April 23rd.
We will be pre-selling tickets for the event, in 2011 there were over 200 people in attendance. The money that we raise from ticket sales and auction items go towards our two $1,000 college scholarships.
I hope that you will be able to offer a donation for this event. It is an event that captures the city of Des Moines’ south side and the funds raised goes towards a good cause. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
